Pedestrian Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle in Augusta
Police have released the name of a pedestrian who was killed Monday night after being hit by a vehicle in Augusta.
The accident happened at around 7 o'clock on Memorial Drive. Augusta Police say Dana Williams, a 60-year-old resident of Augusta was walking on the West side of Memorial Bridge, near Gage Street, when he was struck by a vehicle and reportedly died at the scene. There were several witnesses to the accident who tried to render aid, but to no avail.
Memorial Drive was closed for a time while police investigated the accident. So far, no charges have been filed, but officials ask that anyone who may have information relating to the accident contact the Augusta Police Department.
