A Passadumkeag man will spend three years behind bars for his role in a conspiracy to import and sell illegal drugs.

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency reports 40-year-old Jason Mannix, aka 'Boston,' was also sentenced to three years of supervised release. On March 25th, he pled guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine base, which is commonly referred to as 'crack.' Court documents state that for just over a year, starting in January of 2016, Mannix conspired with others to bring the drugs to the greater Bangor area from Waterbury, Connecticut. Officials say he facilitated the drug dealing activities of others.

This investigation was a joint venture between the U.S. and Maine Drug Enforcement Agencies, in their effort to Combat the Opioid Epidemic.
