Overnight Standoff in Eddington Ends in Arrest

State Police have released more details about an overnight standoff on the Clewleyville Road in Eddington that ended with one arrest.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says police were originally called to the residence at about 7:00 Wednesday night, for a domestic violence call. 55-year-old Amilio Samaroo refused to come out of the house, and so a team of negotiators was called in, followed by a tactical team. Samaroo held police at bay for several hours before finally being taken into custody by the tactical team at about 4:00 Thursday morning.

He was charged with threatening with a dangerous weapon and taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
