Orrington Old Home Week organizers have announced the dates for the Endless Yard Sale, when the entire town hosts sales at their homes.

What is the Endless Yard Sale?

If you've never been to an endless yard sale, it works like this. Residents of Orrington have the opportunity to hold sales at their homes, for no charge. They just register their sales with the town of Orrington so they can be included on a town-wide map that's made available to shoppers. If you love to go to yard sales, this is a chance for you to hit dozens of them within one community.

When Will It Be Held This Summer?

It was announced this week that the Endless Yard Sale will be held Friday through Sunday, July 14th, 15th, and 16th. Mark your calendars or, if you're like me, make a note in your phone, so you don't make other plans that weekend. In the past, I've picked up amazing bargains including a like-new Carhartt hoodie for my husband for $5, a lamp for my house for $1, and more. My friend and I make a day of it and always find some cool treasures.

Isn't the Yard Sale Part of a Bigger Celebration?

The Endless Yard Sale is part of Orrington's Old Home Week, a 7-day town celebration that includes a variety of events, including community suppers, a rubber duckie race in the Segdeunkedunk Stream, and a photo contest that I enter every year. So far, my best finish has been second place with this picture of a duck landing in that very same stream.
