Back in June, Skowhegan Moose Festival attendees took a shot at a world record. The result of the attempt is still unknown.

On Saturday, June 9, Skowhegan Moose Festival attendees filled the Skowhegan Fairgrounds grandstand to be part of a World Record attempt. Organizers filed an application with Guinness World Records to make the attempt officially sanctioned.

It was estimated that it would take about three months for Guinness to confirm the record. However, today the Facebook page for the Moose Festival shared that Guinness has requested additional information and evidence to verify the attempt.

Using wristbands and many volunteer spotters, the early estimate was in the neighborhood of 1,600 participants, according to festival organizers. The record for Most People Moose Calling Simultaneously currently stands at 995 people.
