It's been 23 years since a college student from Massachusetts vanished while traveling to Biddeford to visit friends.

What Happened to Angel Torres

The last time anyone saw Angel 'Tony' Torres, he was traveling from his home in Massachusetts to visit friends in Maine on May 21st, 1999. He was a junior in college and had his whole life ahead of him, but it all ended mysteriously when he simply disappeared.

Angel's parents, Ramona and Narciso Torres, have spent the past 23 years keeping their son's memory alive. A $500 scholarship has been given to a graduating senior from Bonny Eagle High School each year since 2002, and another scholarship to a student from Fryeburg Academy since 2006. The scholarships are funded by cash donations and donated bottle returns.

Angel was...funny, a ladies' man, an athlete who loved his New York Yankees, loved his family, and was hoping to help young adults. He had a lot of goals, but his life was taken away from him way too young

What Do Police Think Happened to Angel?

Maine State Police say the investigation is ongoing but they, along with Angel's parents, feel foul play was involved. They believe there's someone in the community who has the right information to bring the people responsible to justice.

Ramona Torres says she thinks of him every day.

I beg you, as Angel's mother, to help us ease the pain. Please, please come forward and share what you know!

Is There a Reward?

A $20,000 reward is offered for anyone with information that could lead to the recovery of Angel's remains. Anyone who thinks they have pertinent information is urged to contact the Maine State Police at Major Crimes Unit-South, One Game Farm Road, Gray, Maine 04039 or by calling (207) 624-7076.
