Ever see a patch of land and wonder ‘what could go there?’. I’ve been watching a plot of land for the past few months. And wondering what’s going on.

I’ll share my ‘stalking’ photos. First, the parcel of land is on Griffin Road in Bangor, just past Broadway. So to picture it in your mind, beside Dysart’s and not as far along Griffin Road as Husson.

So what has been going on there for the past few months?

Minimal tree trimming and clearing. Some leveling of the land and from the road or Dysart’s parking lot it looks like trenches dug.

Also, some big construction vehicles are on site now.

And some ‘material’ of some kind.  Just proving I’m no contractor or construction expert.

But I let my mind wander and wondered ‘What is coming to that huge parcel of land?"

It is big enough for a box store.  Wouldn’t Reny’s look good right there?

Or anytime there is talk of new buildings, Trader Joe’s comes up. It would fit.

Or IHOP, but it’s right next to Dysart’s.

Believe me, with what’s going on of late in Bangor and the area, a pot store did cross my mind too.

All good ideas, right?

Well stop what you’re doing, I’m about to ruin all those hopeful thoughts.

Not confirmed yet, but here’s what I am hearing.

Self Storage buildings.

The plot of land is certainly large enough and well enough located. And no disrespect, I’m sure lots of thought has gone into the decision, and nobody would proceed with this endeavor if there wasn’t a desire for more self-storage buildings.

However, listen for the collective sigh. Oh, what it could have been going in there.

As they say, stay tuned.
