Ellsworth's new Police Chief is a familiar member of the law enforcement community and a well-respected veteran officer.

According to the Ellsworth American, City Manager David Cole announced Tuesday afternoon that Glenn Moshier has been named the new Chief of Police. Moshier has been working as the acting chief since the departure of Pete Bickmore. The former Chief resigned after less than a year with the department.

Moshier is a 12-year veteran of the Ellsworth Police Department, who was promoted to Captain in 2016. He's also a 3-time recipient of the department's Officer of the Year award.

The appointment to Chief is subject to approval by the City Council at a special meeting set for the morning of Friday, February 24th. A swearing-in ceremony is tentatively scheduled immediately following that meeting, at approximately 10 a.m.
