Motorcyclist Survives Fiery Collision With Car In Rockport
A Washington man suffered multiple injuries in an accident that left his motorcycle in flames in Rockport.
Police told the Penobscot Bay Pilot that the motorcycle, driven by 58-year-old Mark Porter, collided with a car on Route 17 in Rockport on Sunday. Porter was thrown off the bike, onto the busy highway. He suffered serious body and leg injuries and was taken to a local hospital. Investigators say the car pulled into the travel path of the motorcycle. The driver of the car, 66-year-old Eduardo Bernal of Camden, was making a left-hand turn off Meadow Street, onto Route 17. He was not hurt in the accident.
The final cause of the crash still remains under investigation.
