Moose On The Loose In Downtown Rumford [VIDEO]

A young moose found its way into downtown Rumford early Tuesday morning, before officials helped him/her back to the woods.

It looked like the opening scene from the 1990's-era TV show, Northern Exposure, when a young moose was seen trotting through downtown Rumford. I almost expected to see Dr. Fleischman pop out of a doorway, or hear Chris talking about it on the Alaska radio station. But, no, it's just another morning in Maine.

David Adley recorded some video of the moose and shared it on Facebook. I love his expressions of sympathy for the obviously confused and scared animal. Thanks to local police, however, the moose was able to make it back to the safety of the forest.
