Blood Moon Eclipse Today Visible in Maine-Next One Not for Years
Maybe you should pull an all nighter for this. Flash back to the college days. Stayin' up too late. Or get up early. Very early. For the Eclipse
See the Blood moon lunar eclipse beginning at 3:02 a.m. (Eastern Standard Time) But it won’t be in full effect until 5:16 a.m. and will last until ending at 8:56 a.m.
Lunar eclipses, also known as ‘blood moons’ happen when the sun, the earth, and the moon line up so the moon passes into Earth’s shadow.
And the moon appears to take on a very dramatic reddish glow.
These usually happen every year and a half, but this will be the 2nd lunar eclipse this year. Although it will be the last expected until March of 2025. 2 and a third years from now
This might also be the first lunar eclipse on Election Day. Not sure which party will claim that they arranged this beauty as a reminder to get out and vote today.
This is also referred to as a Beaver Blood Moon Lunar Eclipse, called that because the Full Moon in November is known as a Beaver Moon.
Visible from North and Central America. Parts of South America, Asia, Australia and more.
The ‘oh wow’ level dependent of course on the level of clarity or cloudiness in the sky.
If we do get hemmed in with clouds and fog, you can see this beauty online. Start with this website to watch live
