Miranda Lambert Helps New England Shelter Animals Find Forever Homes
A BIG donation from Miranda Lambert has helped many shelter animals here in New England find forever homes.
Miranda Lambert's MuttNation Foundation has made a huge donation to an animal shelter in Massachusetts. The Scituate Animal Shelter in Plymouth County, Mass. has waved all adoption fees until July 19 thanks to a Mutts Across America donation. The program makes a donation to one shelter in each state every year.
The Scituate Animal Shelter said in a Facebook announcement the donation "couldn't have come at a better time. Summer is the slowest time for adoptions and we have a shelter that is absolutely full."
According to the the Boston Globe the shelter had line of people out the door waiting to adopt when they opened in the morning.
Lambert co-founded the MuttNation Foundation with her mother Bev Lambert in 2009. According to the charity's website, the Maine affiliate of the MuttNation Foundation is the Animal Welfare Society in Kennebunk.
