Maine Police Say a Deceased 3-Year-Old Was Found in a Car in Milford

Penobscot County Sheriff's Deputies responded Saturday evening to a local business in Milford and found the body of a deceased 3-year-old girl inside her mother's vehicle. The child was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.

UPDATE: The cause and manner of death are still pending additional studies, but the Deputy Chief Medical Examiner says that hyperthermia (an elevated body temperature) was consistent with the symptoms presented and was the most likely cause of death based on the current information.

Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says Brown's family members had asked law enforcement to locate her and her daughter, out of concern for their well-being.
