A Massachusetts man faces a slew of charges after police say he led them on a high-speed chase from Bucksport to Winterport on Wednesday.

Levon Johnson 36, of Springfield, Mass., was arrested for eluding a police officer, passing a roadblock, aggravated reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, forgery, criminal speed, operating without a license, aggravated driving to endanger, refusing to submit to arrest, and disorderly conduct.

Several more charges are pending against Johnson.

The pursuit lasted several miles and went through multiple towns. During the pursuit, which started at about 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the operator drove erratically and recklessly and almost struck a state trooper with his vehicle. The chase concluded on Main Street in Winterport.
