Brewer Police on Wednesday arrested a man who had eluded police for more than a month after being accused of choking a woman and throwing her in a ditch in August.

Jonathan Petgrave, 30, of Waterville was arrested on outstanding warrants for domestic violence and probation revocation.

On Wednesday, Brewer Police investigated a report of a suspicious person in a vehicle at a Wilson Street business, according to a Facebook post. The registered owner was determined to be Petgrave. Officers later located his vehicle on Walton Drive and arrested Petgrave on the outstanding warrants.

Police had been looking for Pegrave for more than a month, ever since he was accused of choking a woman and threatening to kill her along a roadside on Aug. 13.

During the arrest, officers located a handgun in his vehicle. Petgrave, a convicted felon, was also charged with possession of a firearm by a prohibited person.
