Maine Woman Charged with Driving 123 mph with Kids in Back Seat

A 24-year-old Cornish woman faces several charges after police say she was driving 123 miles per hour Sunday afternoon on the Maine Turnpike with her two children in the back seat.

Cheryl Gilson was taken to the Cumberland County Jail on charges of criminal speed, driving to endanger, and endangering the welfare of her children.

State Police say Gilson had no explanation for her actions.

Three young men also in the car were not charged.
