A New Hampshire woman who got lost in South Berwick was lucky that Luna was on the job.

Who Was Lost?

South Berwick Police contacted the family of 35-year-old Jennifer Foxlow of Rollinsford, New Hampshire after finding her car at Vaughan Woods State Park about 11:00 Wednesday night, with no sign of her nearby. Her family told officials that they hadn't seen her since about 10:00 Wednesday morning. When an initial search by police and a York County Sheriff's Deputy didn't turn up any sign of Foxlow, they called in the Maine Warden Service to help.

How Did They Find Her?

Officials searched the area before dawn and, at about 4:30 Thursday morning, Game Warden K9 Luna raced off into the deep woods, obviously following a scent. Warden K9 Handler Michael Latti yelled for Luna and she barked in return, which is her signal that she'd found the missing person. Foxlow also called out to him. An examination by York County EMS revealed no apparent injuries, but she was taken to a local hospital anyway, to be checked out.

What Other Searches Did Luna Resolve?

Luna has been very successful during missing person searches. A year ago, Luna found an 80-year-old Oxford man who failed to return from a walk. In August of 2021, the talented K9 found an 11-year-old Gorham girl with autism who ran away from home.
