Maine Senators Welcome Madawaska Musicians To Washington, D.C.
Senators Susan Collins and Angus King welcomed the students from the Madawaska Middle and High School band to Washington D.C., as they prepare to perform at tonight's Inauguration kickoff party.
They call themselves the 'Pride of Madawaska,' but they're more like the Pride of Maine this week as they represent the state at the Presidential inauguration. The group of students will be the only musical representatives from Maine taking part in the festivities.
Politics aside, this is an amazing opportunity for some young people from northern Maine, to visit the nation's capital, be a part of a Presidential inauguration, and be treated like V.I.P.'s by the state's two Senators. It's the kind of event that they'll remember for the rest of their lives!
We wish the best for the Pride of Madawaska band tonight as they take part in a concert at the Lincoln Memorial. Also on the program for today's concerts will be Toby Keith, 3 Doors Down, Lee Greenwood, Sam Moore, the Beach Boys, and more than 100,000 spectators. Go, Maine!
