Despite many artists being nominated, Mainers came up empty at this year's New England Music Awards.

Last weekend the 2018 New England Music Awards were handed out at Mixx 360 in Malden, Massacusettes. Maine acts including Chris Ross and The North, Mallett Brothers Band, Ghost of Paul Revere, and Spose had nominations in some of the major category's. However, they were outvoted by the rest of the pack.

Chris Ross and The North had the most out of the Maine nominees. The Hancock based group was nominated for Album of the Year, Live Act of the Year, and Roots Act of the Year. In addition, their song "Dangerous Man" was nominated for Song of the Year.

Maine duo Emily and Jake came home with some hardware, winning the Best in State category. Other Maine nominees for the award were Cathedral Reign, Five Of The Eyes, Golden Oak, Lone Wolf James, theWorst, The Other Bones, Too Late the Hero, and Weakened Friends.
