A search is underway for a Milbridge man who failed to return from an outing yesterday.

Maine Man Was Harvesting Clams When He Went Missing

Alton Wallace, 51, of Milbridge, was reported missing on Sunday afternoon by a family member after he didn't return from harvesting clams.

Maine Marine Patrol officials say several agencies have been searching since around 3:15 Sunday afternoon and have focused on an area near Fickett Point, at the mouth of the Narraguagus River. First responders used Mr. Wallace's last cell phone ping to direct the search. That last ping happened at approximately 7:30 Sunday morning.

Poor Visibility Sunday Postponed the Search for a Missing Milbridge, Maine man

The search was called off Sunday night, due to poor visibility, but members of several agencies and local fishermen are back at it today.
