A Maine man whose body was found in the back of his car in Massachusetts was beaten and strangled.
Maine Man Killed in Massachusetts Suffered Blunt Force Trauma and Strangulation
The details surrounding the death of Declan Perry, 27, of Portland, were revealed during the arraignment of the man accused of killing him. Prosecutors say Perry suffered blunt force trauma and strangulation, with the injuries occurring before his death.
Christopher Caron, 42, of Scituate, Massachusetts, has pleaded not guilty to murder for Perry's death.
Maine Man Killed in Massachusetts Was Left in His Car, Wrapped in Blankets
Perry's body was found wrapped in blankets, which were secured with duct tape, in the backseat of his own vehicle on August 24th. The car was left outside the emergency department of South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
Officials say Caron allegedly went into the emergency department and alerted them that Perry was in the vehicle, and then fled on foot.
Massachusetts Man Allegedly Claimed Maine's Declan Perry Died of a Drug Overdose
Caron allegedly told the police that Perry had died of a drug overdose. According to the Portland Press Herald, autopsy results disproved that claim.
A bail hearing for Caron is planned for later this month. In the meantime, Caron is being held at the Plymouth County Correctional Center.
