Portland Man is Charged with Assault for Encounter With Young Teen
Westbrook Police have charged Antonio Henriques, 26, of Portland with assault and violation of bail conditions. Officials say the latter charge stems from an unrelated case.
Police Say the Victim Ran Away But the Suspect Followed Them Home
It was just after 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 when Westbrook Police received a call from someone who said an unknown man had grabbed their 13-year-old family member while the victim was walking home. The man allegedly tried to kiss the teen and the caller told police he tried to give the victim alcohol. The victim broke free from the man's grasp and was able to make it home, but the man followed the teen, allegedly still trying to make advances. Once at the home, the suspect was confronted by the family member, who stayed with the victim until the police arrived.

Westbrook Police Say the Suspect Was a Stranger to the Young Victim
An investigation into the incident resulted in the arrest of Henriques, who was charged and then taken to the Cumberland County Jail. Westbrook Police say Henriques was a stranger to the teen and the two had never had any prior interactions before this incident.
