Thomas West, 63, of Steuben, was found in the waters of Dyer Bay on Wednesday morning.
The Maine Marine Patrol was notified at 9:00 Tuesday night by the Maine Department of Public Safety's Regional Communications Center that Mr. West was missing.

Local fishermen had contacted authorities after finding West's boat running, but with no one aboard.
His 35-foot lobster boat, Aces and Eights, was moored close to the wharf at the end of Merritt Road in Steuben.

Marine Patrol officials launched a search Tuesday night, using a remotely operated vehicle in the water near Mr. West's boat.
The search was suspended at 2:30 am on Wednesday due to low visibility, with authorities planning to resume this morning.

Before they could get started, however, officials learned that Mr. West had been located at 6 am on Wednesday by family members and his body transferred to a relative's fishing vessel.
His body has been taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an examination to determine the cause of death.
