Monday Evening Tractor-Trailer Crash Has Prompted the Closure of I-95
Officials say a crash on Monday night, March 31st, prompted the closure that will affect all southbound traffic in Pittsfield on Wednesday. A tractor-trailer unit rolled over on the southbound side of the highway and has remained there while a removal procedure was orchestrated. There's no word on whether anyone was hurt in the crash or what prompted the truck to roll over.

Both Southbound Travel Lanes on I-95 Will Be Closed to Traffic
That operation will occur on Wednesday, April 2nd, beginning at 8 a.m. and is expected to end by 4 p.m. Both southbound travel lanes will be closed to traffic during that time frame.
Detours Will Be Marked to Maneuver Around the Closure
Drivers are advised to detour using Exit 157 in Newport and use Route 100 and Somerset Avenue to Exit 150 in Pittsfield, where they can re-enter I-95. Signs will mark the detour route, and digital message boards will be active.
Maine DOT officials apologize for the inconvenience and ask motorists to drive safely through detours and work zones.
