Maine Game Wardens Investigate Shooting Of Juvenile Bald Eagle
A juvenile bald eagle was euthanized after it was found suffering from a gunshot wound last week in in T7-R7 WELS.
The eagle was discovered Oct. 13 on Whitehorse Road, the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said in a press release Friday night.
Game wardens believe an individual shot the eagle with a shotgun sometime between Oct. 11 and Oct. 13.
The eagle was taken to a veterinarian for treatment, but its injuries were too severe and had to be euthanized.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information that leads to an arrest.
