A 27-year-old who went missing on a Maine lake has been found deceased.

Maine Man Went Missing While On a Solo Fishing Trip on Cobbosseecontee Lake

Kyle Armstrong, 27, of Pittston, was found early Wednesday morning in the water of Cobbosseecontee Lake.

The Maine Warden Service first learned of Armstrong at 8:30 Tuesday evening, when his family called to report he had not returned and they feared he had a medical event. Kyle had left to go bass fishing by himself at approximately noon that day and had not returned before dark, concerning his family.

Several Maine Agencies Launched a Search for the Missing Fisherman

A search was launched by several agencies at approximately 9:30 Tuesday night to search for Kyle and his boat.

Officials located the watercraft at approximately 1:00 Wednesday morning, but Kyle was not located. It was several hours later, at approximately 6:30 Wednesday morning when Kyle was found in the water.

Maine Wardens Say Speed and Alcohol Were Not Factors in the Fisherman's Death

The incident remains under investigation but officials say speed and alcohol are not suspected to have been factors. Maine Warden Service officials say Kyle, who was wearing a life jacket, may have experienced a medical event. He was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will determine his cause of death.
