
Maine Police Seize Illegal Drugs, Charge 2 With Trafficking
2 people are facing trafficking charges after police stopped their vehicle during an investigation into the importation of drugs into Maine.
Maine Drug Enforcement Agents Arrest 2 in Waterville for Drug Trafficking
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says the two people arrested are:
- Claudio Villae, 45, of Boston, Massachusetts.
- Candy Duprey, 38, of Unity, Maine.
Both Villae and Duprey are charged with two counts each of aggravated trafficking in Schedule W drugs.

The charges stem from a 6-month investigation into drug trafficking activity in the Swanville area.
Officials say out-of-state individuals have allegedly been traveling to the region to sell illicit narcotics.
Two People Were Arrested on Drug Charges after a Waterville, Maine, Traffic Stop
On April 27, 2026, Maine Drug Enforcement Agents received credible information that an out-of-state drug trafficker was going to be arriving in Waterville on a Greyhound bus with a substantial amount of narcotics.
The agents also learned that Candy Duprey would be picking the alleged trafficker up and driving them to the Mid Coast area.
Duprey, who had an active warrant of arrest for a pending drug trafficking investigation, was observed at the bus station, providing a ride for a male subject who was carrying a large backpack.
Maine Police Seize Cocaine and Heroin During a Traffic Stop in Waterville
MDEA agents worked with the Waterville and Maine State Police to conduct a traffic stop of Duprey's vehicle after she left the bus station.
Duprey was arrested on her warrant, and agents searched the vehicle.
Seized in that search were:
- 137.2 grams of cocaine HCL
- 66.6 grams of heroin.
Both individuals were arrested and taken to the Kennebec County Jail, where bail for Villae was set at $100,000 cash.
Duprey is being held without bail due to bail conditions from unrelated charges.
Officials say this investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
