There are plenty of spots in our Pine Tree State that we could easily call ‘cute,’ but one place was officially named among the cutest for 2025!

And listen, we get it—‘cute’ might not sound all that manly or rugged, especially for how we like to carry ourselves here in Maine. But hey, let’s just take the wins where we can get them, right?

Now that we’ve laid it all out, which city in Maine was recently named one of the cutest in America for 2025?

According to WorldAtlas and their study highlighting the ‘7 Cutest Small Towns in the Northern United States for 2025,’ one of their picks for ‘cutest small towns’ is none other than our state capital, Augusta—home to nearly 20,000 people. Here’s what WorldAtlas had to say about their selection:

A charming and timeless appeal defines this capital attraction, which can trace its modern history to the 1750s. Featuring a climate known for hot summers and cool winters, Augusta has plenty to enjoy, from outdoor landmarks to historic points of interest.

And while it may be considered a ‘cute small town’ when compared to major cities like Boston, New York, or Philadelphia, Augusta is actually the 13th most populated city in all of Maine.

Additionally, WorldAtlas went on to highlight that Augusta is home to several sites on the National Register of Historic Places, like the Maine State House, the Old Post Office, South Parish Church, the Blaine House, and Fort Western, just to name a few.
