Maine State Police have identified a man whose body was found earlier this month.

 Missing Maine Man Identified as Deceased Male in Waldoboro

Darryl Sanborn, 64, of Thomaston, was last seen in Waldoboro on April 5, 2026.

Two days later, the Waldoboro Police Department asked for assistance from the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit Central, regarding Mr. Sanborn's disappearance.

Passerby Discovered a Deceased Male on a Waldoboro Dirt Road

On April 17, 2026, a person walking on a dirt road off Wagner Bridge in Waldoboro discovered the body of an adult male.

The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy positively identified the deceased as Darryl Sanborn.

There's no word, yet, on the cause and manner of death.

State Police say there is no known danger to the public.
