No details have been released about the deceased, other than that he was found Monday afternoon at around 4:00 p.m., off Schoodic Loop Road in Winter Harbor.
An Autopsy Aims to Identify the Deceased and Determine the Cause of Death
Local EMS declared the man deceased, and his body was taken to the Maine Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy to confirm his identity and determine how he died.
Officials Say the Man Was Found Outside His Vehicle
A National Park Spokesperson told the Ellsworth American that the man's vehicle was found parked in a pullout, south of Frazer Point, and the deceased was found unresponsive outside of that vehicle.
Authorities say there's no threat to public safety. This incident remains under investigation by several agencies.
