A local couple was charged with operating a meth lab after the car they were riding in was pulled over Monday afternoon on High Street in Lincoln.

Christopher McGinn, 30, and Tiffany Lord, 26, both of Lincoln, were making meth inside the vehicle when they were stopped by police, Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a news release Tuesday.

After the arrests, police searched the couple's home on Cemetery Road and found more evidence of meth making, McCausland said.

The couple was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.

Their arrests mark the 16th meth-related response by the MDEA this year.
