Liberty Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Hit and Run

The Waldo County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help locating the driver who struck and seriously injured a pedestrian in Liberty.

Sheriff Jeff Trafton says a man was struck and seriously injured on Route 220 at approximately 2:30 Thursday morning. The driver reportedly did not stop to help or call for assistance. A passing motorist discovered the man in the vicinity of 978 Pinnacle Road.

Now, the sheriff's office is hoping to hear from anyone who may have been traveling in that area of Liberty this morning, near the time of the accident. Anyone with information is asked to call the Waldo County Sheriff's Office at 338-2040.
