Lewiston Man Wanted by Police, Considered to be Armed & Dangerous
Lewiston Police are asking for the public's help locating a man wanted in connection with a shooting on Knox Street.
Who is the Suspect?
Abdirahman Duale, who also goes by the name 'Gino,' is 21-years-old and is wanted by police in Lewiston, who say he's considered armed and dangerous. Duale is sought for a shooting that happened in the early morning hours of Tuesday, May 24th.
How Did the Shooting Go Down?
It was around 3 a.m. when Lewiston Police were dispatched to the area of 50 Knox Street for a report of numerous gunshots. When they arrived, they found a 22-year-old male in the street with a gunshot wound to his foot. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, where he was treated and released.
An investigation revealed many spent shell casings in the immediate vicinity and several buildings and vehicles that had been struck and damaged by gunfire. Witnesses told police they saw a white Chrysler 200 fleeing the scene shortly after the shooting. That vehicle was located later, a short distance away.
What Do I Do If I Think I See the Suspect?
Now, police say they want to talk to Duale in connection with that shooting. Again, the suspect is considered armed and dangerous, so anyone who thinks they see him should contact the police immediately and not approach him themselves.
