Police say a Lewiston man is charged with murder for the death of a Massachusetts resident.

Mark John Sinclair, 28, of Lewiston has been arrested in connection with the death of John Paquin, 20, of Worcester, Massachusetts. The investigation began on Sunday when, shortly after 4:00 in the afternoon, police responded to a report of gunshots at 30 Howe Street in Lewiston. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says responding officers found Paquin suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was transported to Central Maine Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Police blocked off the lower section of Howe Street for several hours while Lewiston Police, Maine State Police Detectives and Evidence Technicians processed the scene and conducted interviews.

Sinclair was arrested Sunday evening on active warrants for domestic violence terrorizing, criminal mischief, and violation of bail. He was taken to the Androscoggin County Jail. Early Monday morning, at approximately 1:30, police executed a search warrant at Sinclair's home at 12 Howe Street, as part of the investigation. After an autopsy was performed an Paquin at the office of the Chief Medical Examiner and his death was ruled a homicide, State Police Detectives charged Sinclair with murder. He's being held without bail and is scheduled to be arraigned later this week.

Police have not revealed any motive for the murder.
