A Maine man was arrested in Minnesota and charged with murder for the shooting death of a teenager nearly a year ago.

Maine Man Accused of Killing a Lewiston Teen in 2024

Aden is accused of killing Sahal Muridi, whose body was found in the road in the area of 77 Rideout Avenue in Lewiston on Sunday, July 14, 2024, when police resonded to a report of shots fired.

Witnesses at the scene told the police that they saw a silver Mercedes fleeing the scene, as well as a black Dodge Challenger with a temporary license plate. Officials said, at the time, that the driver of the Mercedes was cooperating with the investigation.

An autopsy by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the 17-year-old had died of a gunshot wound to the head and neck.

Maine Man Arrested in Minnesota for a 2024 Murder in Lewiston

An investigation that's lasted nearly a year pointed to Aden as a suspect in the death. He was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, in Fridley, Minnesota, by members of the FBI Safe Streets Task Force.

On Thursday, June 26, 2025, he was extradited to Maine by members of the Department of Corrections. He was arraigned on Friday, June 27, in Adroscoggin Superior Court and pleaded not guilty.

Aden is currently being held at the Androscoggin County Jail.
