These futuristic 2-wheeled boards have blown up in popularity recently. With the popularity has come serious injuries and board malfunctions leading Lewiston officials to consider a ban.

After noticing a lack of posted rules against such things as hoverboards at places like the Lewiston Memorial Armory, city officials move to vote to ban the boards at Tuesday's meeting at City Hall. This ban would only apply to city buildings and not streets or public parks and would include rollerblades, skates, and skateboards as well.

Hoverboards are clearly causing safety issues as demonstrated by fail videos and board malfunctions where the board randomly bursts into flames.

Although they haven't had any problems yet, they want to have enforcement in place in case a situation involving the boards were to arise. The vote will take place Tuesday night around 7PM.
