I'm a foodie from way back...

When I still lived in southern Maine, my wife and I used to go out to eat all the time. Why wouldn't you? That part of the state is overflowing with killer places to eat. Way more than its fair share. Two of the places we frequented the most were these two Thai places that had the best Drunken Noodle I've ever had.

Suffice it to say, a lot of Asian cuisine is my go-to. Sushi, pad thai, ramen.... all big-time favorites. So last year when I heard about Korean Dad opening up, I got super excited. I can't say I'd ever had Korean-specific meals before, and I was pumped that it looked like I was about to get my chance.

Sadly, Korean Dad seemed to close almost as fast as it opened.

We told you in May of last year that they had set their opening date. and then, it seemed like just a few months later they announced they were closing. I was kind of quietly devastated, as I had never gotten a chance to get over and try it. And honestly, when I heard the news, I kind of wrote it all off.

It seems their current plan is opening for limited hours on Saturdays. And there's a bit of a trick for the first-timers.

But this weekend, I happened to be driving down State Street in Veazie, and there were a couple of cars in the driveway and they looked like they were open. I was initially confused and thought maybe they had sold the property. But I peeked at Korean Dad's Facebook page and noticed they were doing limited hours. I was pumped!

Following their Facebook page is key.

It seems their current plan is to open for limited hours on Saturdays. And there's a bit of a trick for the first-timers. You must order online the day before, and pick it up in their narrow time slots. They open typically from 11 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., and again from 4:30 p.m. - 6 p.m. It's a different way of doing things, but hey... whatever works for them.

They post the menu the day before, and then you pick it up the next day. Hey... I can work this way. I'm just psyched that I can finally try their food. Friends of mine who've been have great things to say about it. I look forward to finding out myself...
