
3 Suspects Remain At Large After a Knox, Maine Shooting
A woman is recovering after being shot by one of three individuals that police say are still at large.
Maine Woman Shot By One of Three Masked Suspects in Knox
The victim has been identified as Astin Elwell, 40, of Knox. Officials say an unidentified person shot her on Thursday afternoon.

Before the police arrived, Elwell was driven to Waldo General Hospital in Belfast and later transferred to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.
Knox, Maine Shooting Suspects are Still At Large
An investigation by the Maine State Police determined that three males had arrived together at a residence at 1580 Bailey Road in Knox late that afternoon. The individuals were in a gold/tan Jeep Cherokee and were reportedly wearing ski masks.
Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesperson Shannon Moss says one of the men shot Ms. Elwell as she answered the door.

All three suspects then fled the scene.
Troopers found a vehicle of interest behind a nearby residence, which was seized for evidence processing, but the suspects have not been located.
Knox, Maine Shooting Suspects Remain at Large
Officials have not commented on a motive for the shooting, but say they believe this was an isolated incident, and so there is no known risk to the public.
