Lewiston, Maine’s Mr. Halloween Going Big With Over 8,400 King-Sized Candy Bars
Peter Geiger is a Lewiston native who loves Halloween so much, that he's been named Mr. Halloween.
For years and years, Peter Geiger has made Halloween special for Lewiston and beyond. He is the Editor Emeritus of the Farmers' Almanac stepping down after 45 years. Sandi Duncan becomes the first female editor of this amazing publication. As they like to point out, it's the orange and green one.
But for many of you, Peter Geiger is the guy who goes nuts for Halloween, handing out king-sized candy bars. This was his haul for 2023. Over 6,500 king-sized candies!
Halloween in Lewiston for 2024 will be bigger, better, and more exciting!
Last year Halloween was less than a week after Maine's worst mass shooting in history. People were scared, sad, and devastated. They needed something to look forward to, and Peter and his crew provided that.
People came and celebrated and laughed and got a ton of candy. In fact, Peter ran out of candy thanks to the hundreds of people grateful for something positive after something so devastating. Peter knows that this year will be no different with the one year anniversary of Lewiston's tragedy. So, he's upped his game with over 8,400 king-sized candy bars of 30 varieties! And he has it all set up to move quickly! No long lines to wait in!
Lewiston's Mr. Halloween is ready for you!
Peter Geiger put on his Facebook page,
Anyone who knows me, knows that I am passionate about Halloween. I am gearing up for my favorite night of the year. Last year we set a record with 2,869 visitors. Had to shut down early because I ran out of candy - E-gads!
Bigger and better than ever - new decorations, way more candy and I'll announce the secret password on Halloween morning. Stay tuned for more of a wickedly good thing.
A password will get you THREE king-sized candies!
On Halloween morning, we will chat with Peter Geiger and he will reveal the password/phrase that will get you THREE KING-SIZED CANDY BARS! Stay tuned for the all-important password on Halloween morning!
Is it true that Peter doesn't eat candy?
Peter loves candy and candy bars but gave it all up for Lent about 40 years ago. He says that serving thousands of giant candy bars to kids does not even tempt him. He's a giver, not an eater.
Where is this fantastic Halloween candy extravaganza?
It's at Geiger (duh) at 70 Mt. Hope Avenue in Lewiston (don't go to the Geiger school, it's a rookie mistake). It starts at 4:30 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. Because of the giant parking lot, lines are minimal, and there is hardly a wait. He can't wait to see you, and look for a witch that might look a little familiar!
