Antiques Roadshow to Film at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens June 17 & 18
If you were planning a visit to Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, you might want to reschedule your trip as the popular PBS Antiques Roadshow will be filming an episode there.
The Spectacular Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens opened in Boothbay, Maine, in 2007, after 16 years of hard work to make the gardens a reality. A lot of planning went into the Botanical Gardens and building the grounds. 16 years is a long time, but plants, trees, and flowers don't grow overnight. The time it took was worth it.
The land sits on 28 acres with 3,600 feet of tidal shore frontage in Boothbay. It has received great accolades across New England and the country.
National Attention
The botanical gardens got the attention of the producers of the long-running PBS program Antiques Roadshow. If you aren't familiar with the show, think of it as high-class Pawn Stars, where people bring in their antiques to get an appraisal of how much they are worth.
The show originally aired in Great Britain starting in 1978. The American version debuted on PBS in 1997.
Why is Antiques Road Show Coming to Maine?
Late in the 2018 season of Antiques Roadshow, the producers decided that they would shoot all their episodes from then on, outdoors. They have travelled all over the country to shoot in unique locations for people to get their antiques appraised.
On June 17 and 18, the Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens will be closed while the Roadshow crew shoots the episode. As of now, we don't know when the show will air, as these productions take time to be prepared, but if we hear anything, we'll be sure to let you know when you can watch.
