Bradford’s Hudson Rd. Temporarily Blocked Off Tuesday After Pedestrian Dies In In Accident

One man is dead following a collision with a vehicle in Bradford just before 1 PM on Tuesday.

The Hudson Road in Bradford was shut down temporarily for a time as authorities and first responders attempted to save a man who had been hit by a car, according to the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.

"The investigation remains active; however, preliminary findings indicate that a sedan traveling south on Route 221 struck a pedestrian who was in the roadway. Despite life-saving efforts by first responders, an adult male pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene...The Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, along with members of the Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team and Drone Team. The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Glenburn Ambulance and the Bradford Fire Department."

WABI TV5 said Sheriff Troy Morton indicated that the man who passed was in the roadway at the time he was hit, as the driver traveled south on Hudson Road, towards Glenburn, and that the accident took place in the area between the intersections of Jacks Way and Mossy Creek Lane.

Traffic in the area was blocked off temporarily so that a drone could be deployed and the reconstruction could take place. It was reopened when they had cleared the scene.

Authorities have not yet released the man's identity. The accident remains under investigation.

It comes on the heels of another deadly crash that took place exactly one week ago on the Hudson Rd, this time in Glenburn.

65-year-old Linda Burrill of Bradford was killed last Tuesday morning when the vehicle she was riding in collided with a truck pulling a trailer. Burrill was pronounced dead at the scene.
