Bangor, Maine To Host First Ever ‘Maine Honey Fest’ This Summer
Oh to be a honeybee in Bangor!
The Queen City sure loves the Queen Bee and her hive. With our "No Mow May" Campaign we've changed laws to protect the bees and give them a fighting chance during the month of May.
One of the largest murals in the city, 'Good Of The Hive' features a bunch of painted bees and is part of an international art installation honoring the bees and their importance to the world.
And we're lucky enough to have several farms and beekeepers who produce local liquid gold in the form of delicious Maine honey, who supply our state with their sweet goodness.
So it definitely tracks that the powers that "bee" in Bangor would decide to start an annual "Maine Honey Festival", holding the very first one right along the waterfront.

According to the Maine Honey Fest Facebook Event Page, the buzz for the festival has already started to build!
"The Maine Honey Fest will take place on Saturday, August, 16th (Nat'l Honeybee Day), 2025 at Bangor’s beautiful Waterfront Park from 10 am to 3 pm. This event will include, vendors, food trucks, beekeepers, demos, mead, exhibits, and music. There will also be best-dressed bee contests and honey giveaways throughout the day."
So mark your calendars for a day filled with fun, food, and of course plenty of homemade honey.
