I had to stop when I saw this Reddit post...

You know, when you spend a good portion of your day on the internet looking for things to write about, you occasionally come across something that doesn't make sense. I basically live in a world that doesn't make sense half the time, so it takes quite a bit to get me to turn my head and look a bit deeper.

But the headline on Reddit that caught my eye was, "To the person who saw me tasting the rocks on Belfast Beach…" That isn't a series of words you see every day, so I had to know what the deal was. Turns out, the answer was far more practical than I would've allowed myself to guess.

I know, that doesn't really make it less weird. But here's the thing, apparently what this person was doing, was wetting the rocks to see their real color. Now that, actually makes sense. Granted, maybe a spray bottle? Maybe just hawk tuah, and spit on that thang! Or would that be rock tuah, in this case?

They went on to describe what they were doing, in case the other person just happened to be a fellow Redditor. They said that the other person was too far away to yell what they were doing, but close enough that it must've looked really bizarre. Commenters quickly pointed out it sounded more like a Personals ad.

For real, though... It is an innocent, if not odd, confession.

I do get it. Rocks obviously look the same when they are wet. If you've ever seen a granite countertop before it's processed, it also just looks like a hunk of rock. When it's treated, it shows all its beautiful colors. So this person was just indeed wetting the rocks down, and exposing their delightfulness.

But yeah, when someone starts apologizing in an open format about tasting rocks, it does give you pause to want to know more. But yeah... maybe in the future, there's a new method that could be utilized to produce the desired effect, without having to go online and apologize for looking a bit weird. But hey, enjoy you're rock-ing!
