But, Communications Manager for the City of Bangor, David Warren says city officials are putting together a plan to make one part of the city a little easier for walkers and those on bicycles to traverse.

"The City is looking to add a walkway/bike path extending from the Kenduskeag Stream parking lot up to Ohio Street."

"As you probably know, that stretch of road along 14th Street uphill toward Ohio hasn’t been particularly pedestrian- or biker-friendly. The meeting...is an effort to solicit feedback from residents on the project while also giving an overview of the project details."

To make sure people are looped in and have a chance to ask questions or voice concerns, there will be a public meeting held on Wednesday, February 5th at 4:30 PM at the Bangor Parks and Recreation building at 647 Main Street. The meeting will take place in the 2nd-floor conference room.

Warren says that if folks want to take a closer look at the proposed plan before the meeting, they can review them at the Bangor Engineering Department's Office at 1 Dutton Street, or contact the Project Engineers, Jeff Trembley or Jeff Davids, by calling (207) 992-4249 or (207) 992-4251.

The project is tentatively scheduled to take place in June of this year.
