The ‘Dapper Wednesday’ Kids From Maine Were On The CBS News

This small Maine elementary school goes nationwide!

If you are a regular viewer of the CBS Evening News, or CBS Sunday Morning, you have probably seen stories from "On The Road With Steve Hartman."

Hartman is a reporter who travels the country, to report on feel-good stories that feature the goodness, kindness, and compassion in people that give you a much-needed break from the usual doom and gloom of the nightly news.

It is virtually impossible to watch one of his segments each week, and not be moved to smile or shed a tear. They are truly inspirational stories that we all need to hear once in a while.

Last week, he traveled to Chelsea Elementary School, to tell the story of an 8-year-old kid, named James Ramage, and his buddy, Lincoln Bolitho, who came up with a pretty neat idea, which involves getting dressed to the nines, every "Dapper Wednesday."

Chelsea Elementary School is a pretty small public school, with a student population of about 279, but now on Wednesdays, it has become so much more than just a typical day in the classroom.

Who ever thought you would see students in suits and bow ties, that wouldn't be out of place in the roaring 1920s? Very cool.

Principal Alison Hernandez, says that each 'Dapper Wednesday", more and more kids are joining in on the fun! That fun is also starting to catch on around the country.

The "Dapper Wednesday" kiddos have been featured a few other times on TV too!

Way to go, Chelsea! Now, the whole country knows how cool "Dapper Wednesdays" are.
