A Delicious Maine Hot Dog Stand Has Been Cash Only Since 1959
One of Maine's best hidden road trip destinations!
Flo's Hot Dogs, located at 1359 Route 1, in Cape Neddick, has been a family owned and operated business since 1959, specializing in steamed hot dogs.
Many have the opinion that it is one of the best tasting hot dogs in the state.
Florence Stacy bought the business in 1959 and operated it for 14 years, then sold it to her son and daughter-in-law, John and Gail Stacy, who have operated it ever since.
You caould make the case that not much has changed at Flo's in the last 66 years, especially since they have always been a cash only operation, which in this day and age is pretty charming, but also important to know before you make the trip.
Their famous relish works well with many condiments such as mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup. It also punches up hamburgers, steak, ham, eggs and beans.
Flo's "Secret Hot Dog Relish' is also available to order online
Usually, businesses like this are seasonal, but believe it or not, Flo's is open year round, Thursday-Sunday, from 11am-3pm. They offer take out, plus have outdoor seating and parking.
