Bangor Seafood Spot Opens Outdoor Dining Season in Maine
Ready for outdoor dining? Great news, McLaughlin's Seafood reopens for the 2026 season, this Friday, May 8th!
As they get their team up to full speed, they will, start out with a limited schedule: Friday–Sunday, from 11am–7pm. They will not be taking any orders over the phone, but you can order at the window while they train staff.
McLaughlin's Seafood is one of those classic Maine spots that feels like it’s doing everything right without trying too hard. It’s been around since the late ’70s. Walk in and you’ll find fresh catches like lobster, clams, scallops, and haddock lined up like they just came off the boat, which, in many cases, they probably did.

What makes it especially fun is the takeout side of things. You can grab a lobster roll, fried clams, or a full-on seafood platter and just hang out at a picnic table like you’re doing summer vacation the right way. It’s casual in the best sense: paper trays, buttery lobster, and no one rushing you out the door. They also lean into the Maine vibe with extras like smoked seafood and little gift items.
If you go to McLaughlin's Seafood, the best bets are the lobster rolls and fried seafood. The lobster roll is the main event, big chunks of fresh Maine lobster, simple and done right, and it’s what most people go out of their way for. Fried clams and the mixed seafood platters (haddock, scallops, shrimp, etc.) are also solid if you want something heartier.
Celebrate warmer weather at McLaughlin's Seafood, located at 728 Main St, Bangor, and check out their website to get a look at that delicious menu!
