Downtown Bangor is about to get a lot cooler, with frosty treats!

Spring has sprung! Warm, sunny days are ahead, and that is the perfect excuse to enjoy a cold, refreshing treat!

Sawyer's Shave Ice, which has been operating a food truck, located at 1205 Broadway, is about to open a brand new store in the heart of Downtown Bangor.

The big day is almost here. On Saturday, May 17th, they will move to 173 Park Street, the former home of the Wicked Brew Café & Coffee Shop, which closed their doors, back in September of of 2024.

The Grand Opening celebration promises lots of prizes & surprises!

  • Sawyer's is giving you 10% off all day
  • The first 50 people in line will get a Hawaiian Lei Dye Cut Sticker
  • Everyone who attends on May 17th, will be entered into a drawing to win free shave ice for a whole year

The owners Andrew and Julianne Sawyer, are a husband-and-wife duo, who took a bold leap and moved to Maui, Hawaii during the height of the pandemic in 2020.

They fell in love with the laid-back 'aloha' lifestyle and became obsessed with the island's iconic shave ice.

They eventually headed back to their roots here in Bangor, with a mission to bring authentic hawaiian shave ice to their hometown.

Their menu is packed with unique combos, each with a burst of island flavor, giving you a taste of Hawaii, right here in the Queen City.
