Head to the Bangor Waterfront, this Sunday afternoon!

The City of Bangor, is proud to welcome their first American Cruise Lines ship the "American Independence" this Sunday, June 8th!

Catch the excitement at 1pm, when the ship will moor at the Bangor Waterfront docks.

Visitors will have a chance to enjoy the Waterfront and Downtown Bangor, on what is expected to be a decent day, with temps in the upper 70's.

This isn't a one time visit though, after this Sunday's arrival, there will be another four ships coming to visit us in June, there are another six scheduled in July, a whopping seven in August and five more headed our way in September.

The American Independence, built in 2010, has a sun deck, putting green, and fitness center on board! The ship is currently on a 7-night Maine Coast and Harbors Cruise, which started on June 2nd, and wraps up on June 9th.

American Cruise Lines is the largest river and small-ship cruise line in the country. They operate the largest and only 100% U.S.flagged fleet of riverboats and small cruise ships in the world!

American Cruise Lines offers some incredible cruises:

  • New England cruises from Providence RI, and Portland ME.
  •  Chesapeake Bay cruises from Baltimore and Washington DC
  •  Southeast Sea Islands cruises from Charleston, SC to Jacksonville, FL
  •  American Revolution cruises from Washington, D.C. to Washington, D.C.,   exploring historic sites like Colonial Williamsburg and Mount Vernon
