The State of Maine is filled with natural wonders.  Within the state's 35,000 square miles, we have thick forests, rolling fields, rocky mountains, enormous lakes, and a rugged coastline.  Our state is even home to a desert!

And, yes, we have dozens of rivers snaking their way through the state.

The Longest Rivers In Maine

Just like our ponds and lakes, the size of our rivers varies greatly.  We have many very short rivers, like the 3-mile-long Benjamin River and the 8-mile-long Englishman River.  We also have several medium-length rivers.  The 35-mile-long Meduxnekeag River, for example.

Then, we have the big boy rivers.  The Mighty Kennebec River and the Androscoggin River.

We've put together a list of some of the longest rivers in Maine.
